Runcorn Town Manager Chris Herbert has completed his summer signings with the capture of ex Tranmere Rovers forward Tom Croughan.
Croughan played for Tranmere's Youth Team for the last two seasons, captaining his side through to the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup where they lost 2-0 at Goodison Park to Everton. Fine performances led to several First Team call ups and he made his debut on the final day of last season in Tranmere's 1-0 win at Maidstone United.
He was surprisingly released in the summer, but will be looking to work his way back to full time football.
Chris Herbert said of the signing "Tom has a lot of quality he is very quick and can play a few different positions, he knows the game and is very very comfortable on the ball and links up well with the lads around him. His aim is to get back to full time football and it's on him to perform for Runcorn Town Football Club.
"If he does then he will go and progress because he has the right players around him to help him push on. Anyone who gets released from a pro club has to show that resilience and really have that hunger to start again and make a name for themselves again otherwise that player will fall by the wayside but Tom has the character and hunger to get to where he wants to be.
"He is an exciting player and suits our style of play, and we look forward to him playing for Runcorn Town now".
